Character: Grand Edwardian cinema hall with modern, relaxed ambience
Funky Features: Stunning period features include an intricately designed dome ceiling, large red leather armchairs, footstools and wine coolers affixed to each seat, full bar and waitress service available. Playroom with configurable sofas and tables, audio/visual facilities.
History and Location
The Electric Cinema celebrates its 100th birthday in 2008 and is located at Portobello Road, which is equidistant from Westbourne Park and Ladbroke Grove underground stations.
Interior and Spaces for Hire
The Electric Cinema is a luxuriously decorated Edwardian hall. It features 98 individual red leather armchairs, each with cushioned foot rests and side tables. It also includes a bar at the back for drinks, wine, spirits and bites from the tubs menu. Food on offer includes rare salmon, peas, broad beans and mint mayonnaise or homemade chicken goujons and chips served in special tubs. Full bar and waitress service is available.
The Cinema is ideal for conferences, exclusive screenings, launch events and Christmas parties. Fully refurbished in 2004, the Electric boasts unique seating and comfort levels with old fire extinguisher buckets now hung up as a funky pieced of décor. The room has a total capacity of 102 people. It is open to the public but also available for private hire.
The Playroom equipped with its own bar and Sony flat screen, is located on the second floor. It is available for private hire during the week for informal meetings and drinks parties for up to 60 people.
The Study is located on the 2nd floor. It can accommodate up to 10 people for private meetings, breakfasts, lunches, and meetings. Presentation equipment includes Sony flat screens, ISDN lines, VHS, audio/visual equipment and flip charts.
