Venue Review
Character: Inter-disciplinary and arty urban cool in the heart of the West End.
Funky Features: Unusual hybrid between business and event and exhibition space. Ready access to talent of nearby Central St Martin’s School of Art and Design.
Location and History
Once an erotic art venue, the Gallery now consists of a diverse assortment of arts and media-related galleries, bookshops and businesses housed in one four-floor West End building a few minutes walk from Tottenham Court Rd tube.
Among The Gallery’s diverse permanent residents are fashion photography bookshop Clare de Rouen on the first floor, fashion distributor Duncan Friday Ltd on on the second and Johnnie Sapong’s hairdressing salon on the fourth.
Interior
Formerly an erotic art gallery, the Gallery is now a simple stripped back space with white walls and wooden floors.
Spaces for Hire
The Gallery’s friendly general manager is receptive to all sorts of ideas for events. The past few months have seen bookings ranging from a two-floor exhibition of the work of the photographer Rankin to corporate parties and events.
Bars will be installed for events and can stay open until 2am.
