Venue Review
Character: Accessible, purpose-designed contemporary thought-provoking space set against 1930’s grandeur.
Funky Features: Original 1930’s features, interactive and unique ‘Medicine Now and Medicine Man Gallery’, rotating programme of exhibitions, permanent collections including Henry Wellcome’s original drug jars, contemporary art, high-specification state of the art technology with technicians on hand, parking available, bespoke nutritionally balanced menus.
History and Location
Located within easy walking distance from Euston, Euston Square, Warren Street and King’s Cross and St Pancras International stations’, Wellcome Collection Conference Centre is one of the most easily accessible event whatever direction or European destination you are coming from!
Wellcome Collection has been established by the Wellcome Trust, an independent charity funding research to improve human and animal health. The Conference Centre is a private area providing a place for thought-provoking conferences, meetings, receptions and dinners.
Interior and Spaces for Hire
Having undergone a £30 million makeover in 2007, Wellcome Collection reflects a desire to open up medical science to the public, in stimulating and innovative ways. Stepping through the reception you are greeted by a life-size upside-down Anthony Gormley cast-iron figure, commencing a running theme of contemporary art that continues throughout the building.
Wellcome Collection is an amazingly diverse, modern events space with accessible and purpose-designed facilities equipped to the highest standard. The conference centre offers eight cool, clean and versatile conference, function and event spaces, which can be tailored to your needs.
Henry Wellcome Auditorium: A self-contained auditorium providing tiered funky purple seating for 154 people with high-specification technology and an on-hand technician in the projection room . A breakout area (Williams Lounge) and additional rooms can also be used as an organiser’s office and cloakroom respectively. Capacities: Theatre-style: 154 / Top Table: 9 / Wheelchair Users: 4.
Williams Lounge: Available to be used alongside the Henry Wellcome Auditorium as a break-out area or post-event reception space, or as a function space within its own right. Within the space are two glass offices, which can be used as required. Three personal computer terminals are situated in the room to allow for the opportunity for delegates and speakers to access the internet. Capacities: Stand-up reception: 160 / Sit-down dinner: 60.
Burroughs Room: A clean, contemporary and sleek space for hire with white walls and wooden flooring – a versatile blank canvas space ideal for private dining, meetings and receptions. Capacities: Theatre-style: 75 / Stand-up reception: 75 / Sit-down dinner: 30.
Franks Room and Steel Room: Contemporary blank canvas rooms decorated with funky artwork from the Wellcome Trust’s collections with the benefit of high specification AV equipment, natural light and air-con. Both rooms can be used individually or opened out to enable a larger area to be used. Capacities: Franks Room: Theatre-style: 100 / Stand-up reception: 60 / Sit-down dinner: 38.
Steel Room: Theatre-style: 64 / Stand-up reception: 50 / Sit-down dinner: 24.

Dale Room: Perfect for idea generation, training courses and small meetings, this contemporary clean room has the benefit of high specification AV equipment, natural light and air-con. Capacities: Theatre-style: 64 / Stand-up reception: 50 / Sit-down dinner: 24.
Medicine Now Gallery: This is a unique event space in which to house a cocktail reception and offers a great talking point for guests as they can mingle and interact with the intriguing exhibition. Capacity: Stand-up reception: 200.
