Location and History

Situated right next to Market Square, and just a couple of minutes walk from Covent Garden tube station, The Flower Cellars is an expansive blank-canvas space. Formerly the Theatre Museum, it seems that little refurbishment work has been done beyond stripping the place bare – and favourably so. The building’s uniquely spacious architecture, rare for such a central location, offers hosts the chance to really use their imagination within its vast confines. 

Interior and Spaces for Hire

The particularly high ceiling on the ground floor and the wide floor plan on the lower ground floor (interrupted only by supporting columns) add to a space that is versatile and also defined by its fantastic expanse. The mostly whitewashed, exposed brick walls still bear all of the tack marks and nail holes – indicators of the venue’s history as a museum. 

Accessed via two large wooden doors on Russell Street, the ground floor leads directly into a bustling a reception. Although there is ample room to mill about, the space is also riddled with nestling spots. A large ramp leading down to the lower ground floor divides the reception across the middle.

The lower ground floor has a low ceiling, and is broadly proportioned, placing an accent upon the brick support columns that lend the space a sense of structure. Depending on the requirements of the event, sections can be cordoned off with drapes for the sake of scale and intimacy.

With such limitless possibilities for presentation, and twenty-four hour availability, The Flower Cellars is a unique and ideal location to host a wide variety of events, from product launches to fashion shows and exhibitions. It is available for dry hire or a fully comprehensive production, and catering service is on hand from The Hospital Club Events Company.
