Location and History
This beautiful building is a prized piece of English heritage nestles in the idyllic Cotswolds; 10 minute drive form Cheltenham and is mentioned in the Domesday Book. The onsite church, St Mary’s, enriches the character of the estate and is a great feature for weddings and an ideal background for photos. The modern spa building, C-side, is separate to the main building and is sunk beneath the ground. Many exclusive spa treatments are offered in this building, which also houses both pools and a small gym.
Interior and Spaces for Hire
The complete grounds and dining rooms are available for hire exclusively on request, and are suitable for private dinner parties or wedding receptions. The private dining room seats up to 16 and can be used as a separate children’s dining area. The main restaurant holds up to 60 guests on six round tables of 10 people. Expansive lush greenery and unique water features form the backdrop for a peaceful promenade or picturesque wedding photos. The bar and lounge are ideal for pre- or post-dinner drinks, and there is the option to also hire the terrace. The terrace can hold up to 50 dining guests.
In-house catering can create specific menus for private parties. The funky animal heads on the walls of the bar are something to look out for whilst you’re making a choice from the cocktail list…a Cowley Cooler anyone?
There are fifteen rooms in the main house and fifteen in the stable block. Each room is individually designed and varies in size; some extend over two or three levels creating a miniature townhouse layout. All the bathrooms are spacious and have separate shower areas, as well as having views of the surrounding landscape.
Whether you’re relaxing in the public lounge with a latte or having a romantic evening dinner with drinks on the open terrace, Cowley Manor is a perfect sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of city life.
