Location and History

Mayfair’s best-kept secret is a five-minute walk from Bond Street tube station and Oxford Circus, tucked away in the cobbled spaces of Lancashire Court.
Two Mews houses make up the cocktail bar and restaurant that is Mews of Mayfair creating an inside-outside space which is especially appealing during the Summer when al fresco dining is a must.

Interior and Spaces for Hire

Mews of Mayfair spans four floors. Stepping from the cobbles and passing up a plush staircase, you enter the First Floor restaurant which seats 60 people. This informal room is furnished with cream leather chairs and tables, its white walls adorned with intricate murals of butterflies and high windows allowing in plenty of light.

Here you can sample French-inspired tasting, function and lunch menus; available in two and three course menus. A mighty cheeseboard sits invitingly on the bar and delicious warmed rosemary-flavoured rolls are offered at the tables.

A typical modestly priced but mouth-watering three-course menu might consist of a starter of honey roasted pears with cured ham, rocket and cashel blue cream cheese, a main course of Crispy stone bass with smoky aubergine, preserved lemon and parsley salad and a dessert of Crème brulee with caramelised figs.

The top floor vaulted dining room is an ideal function space for 10-30 people, perfect for meetings or cocktail receptions. The walls are covered with an old-fashioned, oversized wall atlas and have a high-beamed ceiling and a 50-inch plasma screen discreetly hidden by a grand mirror. The best feature of all is the window into the kitchen so you can see the chefs at work.

With its al fresco lunchtime menu, bar snacks including chili popcorn and an extensive cocktail menu, the ground floor cocktail bar is great as an informal meeting place. A favorite cocktail of the house is, ‘Bemused’, which consists of fresh lychee and elderflower enhanced with the natural elegance of “pomegranate champagne”.

The Lounge in the basement has DJ decks, disguised as a funky old-fashioned style grand piano, and features intimate alcoves and seating areas. The glittering cocktail bar houses a good vintage champagne selection including Moet et Chandon jeroboams. Here you can reserve an intimate sitting for up to 12 guests.
