Location and History
The Hospital Club is a multi-layered, multimedia, creative institution/entertainment complex built within a former hospital in Covent Garden that bills itself as ‘London’s pre-eminent home for creatives from media and arts industries’. Housing a TV Studio and gallery, a private members club, a members restaurant and recording studio The Hospital Club has been stirring things up ever since Paul Allen established it in the early nineties.
Interior
With Susie Hoodless (once of Wallpaper* magazine) in charge of the interior style, The Hospital Club projects itself as the last word in style and taste among London’s venues – an ideal location for almost anything. It certainly makes a visually stimulating environment. The place is packed with modern furniture classics and various vintage finds are mixed in to create a natural, eclectic atmosphere. Guests enter a spacious, cool but welcoming reception decorated in muted colours and furnished with soft seating. From here you can either head up to one of four floors above, or down to one of the two subterranean levels.
Spaces for Hire
Encompassing six large and carefully detailed floors, The Hospital Club offers unusually wide hire possibilities. It has recently hosted events ranging from fashion shows to literary festivals. You could host an intimate evening of drinks and canapés for friends in, the Martini Lounge – a large loft-like space with remarkable views across London; or perhaps gather your musical workmates to record an album of favourite cover versions in professionally equipped Music Studio A. Equally, you might host a vast and lavish bash in the exquisite 90-person capacity Origin Bar and Dining room; or host a film night in the plush 30-seat cinema. The point about the Hospital is that its possibilities are only limited by your own imagination.
