Venue Review
Character: A high-tech, iconic venue.
Funky Features: Insulated from traffic, tubes and trains, home of the largest silver screen in the UK, equipped with technology for any event.
Location and History
The BFI IMAX is a breath of fresh air – a high-tech, iconic venue supported by a dedicated Corporate Events team and situated at the heart of London with access to excellent local, national and European transportation networks. Situated between Westminster and the City, the award winning building is an island of silence; insulated from traffic, tubes and trains. This unique facility offers all the necessary technology to host a private meeting, project a new idea or launch a product to either internal or external audiences.
Interior and Spaces for Hire
The auditorium boasts 15 rows of steeply raked comfortable seats, enabling all participants a full, unobstructed view of the speaker and screen. The extraordinary 20m by 26m silver screen (the largest in the UK) can be used as a virtual stage with dramatic lighting effects. This can stand alone or work to compliment a temporary stage that can be erected. The BFI IMAX has 500 seats, and events tend to cater for audiences between 100 and 450. The venue can house 320 guests in the 1st floor foyer, and a further 180 on the ground floor for refreshments, networking and standing receptions.
Aside from IMAX® film and regular 35mm and 70mm film projectors, BFI IMAX also has a satellite dish and the capacity for HD, video projection, and PowerPoint presentations. The space provides great flexibility supported by accredited suppliers. There is a full range of facilities integrated into the design of the BFI IMAX and it has accessibility built in: lifts; an induction loop; wheelchair spaces; fully accessible toilets; facilities for recharging power chairs and guide dogs are welcome. At the BFI IMAX they are all wholly dedicated to the success of your event, from the excellence of the cuisine to the efficient and professional service of the management team.
